Southend will start the new season in the National League again after losing the play off final at Wembley against Oldham Athletic.

This match is Cardiff's second and final fixture in Spain after a week of warm weather training (they could have stayed home, it's boiling here in South Wales).

    Kick off 6pm UK time.

Exactly Mike. They could have had one of those open days training events. Or arranged a friendly against local Welsh league team. Quite a few have travelled out there too.

I enjoyed the Cornwall tour we did a few years back. Although I do understand why clubs opt for the more reliable warm weather training abroad.

The other reason for going away is that it gives the squad time to bond together, especially the new players and the 21s to train with the first team.
I'm taking the view that BBM is running his eye over the current squad and 21s, before making any decisions about additions.

Im pretty sure if the club had real promotion intent BBM would already have used funds and brought players in.

We lack pace , leaders , physicality. Im sure he knows this.

I think he has a very limited budget and to make any significant signings needs players out.

Hopefully Chambers , Horvarth , Willock can be moved on and off the wage bill.

Pre season in Ireland & Scotland during the 90’s was brilliant for fans.

Especially Longford, we stayed in Kevin Nugent’s nieces hotel

We’re playing what is our third warm up game for the new season and still no one can say with any certainty how much of a budget BBM has to work with or even whether we intend to sign anyone this summer. When we got relegated, Tan said he was “committed to getting us back (to the Championship)” - well, two and half months later, all i can say at the moment is you’ve got a funny way of showing it.
