Channel 4 showing 'Gaza: Doctors Under Attack' tonight - the documentary the BBC commissioned and then dropped.
More than 100 BBC journalists have now anonymously signed a letter, calling the choice not to broadcast Gaza: Doctors Under Attack a “political decision” that doesn’t reflect the quality of journalism in the film. The BBC, they say, is “an organisation crippled by the fear of being perceived as critical of the Israeli government”. The letter says the decision not to air this film came straight from the top, and many BBC staff – junior and senior – are unhappy with it. They feel it doesn’t reflect the organisation’s values, and that there was no acceptable editorial justification for delaying and then canning it. Some have been brave enough to voice this internally, but their concerns haven’t been heard.

Marwan al-Sultan, a renowned cardiologist and director of the Indonesian hospital, is the 70th healthcare worker to be killed by Israeli attacks in the past 50 days, says Palestinian medical organisation.

This Starmer-led UK government is not Labour in spirit or practice, it is certainly not socialist. In its policies and actions. On Palestine, it can only be described as a genuinely reactionary and conservative government. Its complicity in Israel’s war crimes is not only because it knows of the wrong being done, but also because it is actively involved in perpetrating those crimes. Notwithstanding David Lammy’s statements, we continue to allow British-manufactured military parts to be bought or supplied to Israel for them to use in their illegal war of occupation. It is not as if there is any doubt as to how the weapons are going to be used – there are ‘reasonable grounds’ of suspicion being shown on the television every night.
Not content with this, we are an active participant in the military alliance against the Palestinian people. We provide military and security intelligence, we provide naval and military support, we allow trade and finance to directly bolster the Israeli regime and its colonisation by settlement of Palestinian land, we allow its war criminals to wander free, providing training to police and military.
Logic, international law, appeals to humanity, insults, pleas and petitions have all been tried, but all words have failed. Labour has lost its ‘sense of sin’, it has lost its moral compass – the difference between right and wrong.
Tony Blair’s thinktank worked with a project developing a postwar Gaza plan that included the creation of a “Trump Riviera” and a manufacturing zone named after Elon Musk.
The project, led by Israeli business people and using financial models developed by the US consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG), was developed against the backdrop of Donald Trump’s vision of taking over the Palestinian territory and transforming it into a resort.
While the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) said it was not involved in the authorship of the plan, two staff took part in calls as the project evolved.
The staff also took part in a message group used for the project, along with figures from BCG and the Israeli business people, while a TBI document titled “Gaza Economic Blueprint” was shared within it, the Financial Times reported.

Jewish Peaceniks demonstration in London:

The group, Jewish Peaceniks, has “been curating events to oppose” Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. And in their latest action, they stood with placards highlighting that the number of children in Hampstead and Highgate is similar to the number Israel has murdered in Gaza.
"Israel has killed… over 18,000 children in Gaza"
"About 18,000 children live… in Hampstead & Highgate"
"Imagine… this area… with no children"
"Stand up! Speak out! With us… who as Jews… say ‘not in our name’"
Just one more 'incident' amongst hundreds. So many that the world has become numb.

At least 15 Palestinians, including eight children and two women, have been killed in an Israeli strike near a medical point in central Gaza, a hospital there says.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital said the strike hit people queueing for nutritional supplements in the town of Deir al-Balah. Graphic video from the hospital showed the bodies of several children and others lying on the floor as medics treated their wounds.
But no worries, because the IDF is reviewing the 'incident'.
Let me translate 'incident': mass murder, war crime, more civilian butchery from 'the most moral army on earth' (Bibi Netanyahu)!

Palestinians continue to hold on to the practice we call sumoud – refusing to give up or leave – despite the world turning its back on us.
Over the past 21 long months of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, voices all over the world have decried the demise of international law and the rule-based order. And indeed, the facade of Israel’s adherence to international law has vanished and policies that constitute war crimes are now brazenly declared.
This week, Israel’s defence minister, Israel Katz, has shared plans to forcibly move Palestinians into a camp in the ruins of Rafah. Once they enter, they cannot leave. In other words, a concentration camp, which by definition is an internment centre for members of a national group (as well as political prisoners or minority groups) on the grounds of security or punishment, usually by military order. Michael Sfard, an Israeli human rights lawyer, was quoted in the Guardian as saying that Katz “laid out an operational plan for a crime against humanity”. Hundreds have been killed and thousands wounded trying to access food.
I have tried hard to understand the incomprehensible suffering endured by Palestinians in Gaza and how it is that most Israelis do not acknowledge their humanity. How are they able to show no remorse for what their army is carrying out in their name? I believe the seed of our dehumanisation was planted during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948. Palestinians were violently deprived of land, property and belongings in what we would come to call the Nakba (Arabic for “the catastrophe”), on the grounds that the land was God-given to the Jewish people. From that time, Israelis have been able to use Arab homes, lands and orchards without any feeling of guilt. The 7 October attacks were the starting point of the war, but Israel has been systematically degrading and dispossessing the Palestinian people for decades.
