You’re spot on. Queen were immense that day. Probably Freddie’s best ever performance.
Just watching Dire Straits and Sting singing Money for nothing. Class.

That fight was around a month before, I watched it in the cottage, it was my birthday and a nice young lady sat on my lap, I asked her to move because I couldn't see the telly

McGuigan v Pedrosa was on June 8th at QPR’s ground. Never forget Barry’s Dad singing Danny Boy before the fight.

It was very hot - I can’t remember going for a drink or a p1ss all day but I was young and could do it - no chance these days!

I wasn’t cynical in those days and was quite happy to go along with a lot of the dirge in the daytime. I remember Adam Ant and Nik Kershaw being awful as were Spandau who I always thought were rubbish

Quo were great as were U2 and Bowie

Queen stole the show though. Being part of that audience for that show was magical and something I’ll never forget

Queen are rather a tad panto to say the least. The Philadelphia end came up with the excellent duo of Albert Collins and George Thorogood. I hadn't heard of the latter at the time.
