You will recall that, when reports first emerged of a bid to acquire Cardiff City, we contacted the club to seek clarification.
We received a response that no formal bid had been made but a notice of intention to make such an offer had been received.
Since then speculation regarding a bid has significantly ramped up not just on social media but also in the national press. Reports that a quantified bid has been made, together with interviews with Gareth Bale who is reported to be involved with a consortium, is causing consternation amongst the fanbase who, in our view, should be kept in the picture.
We have since contacted directly the 3 Europe based Directors of the club seeking further clarification of the situation and asking for an official public statement to be made.
We received a reply that the Club are not prepared to make a public statement in response to what they say are "rumours".
To say that this is a very unsatisfactory situation is an understatement. The Club need to confirm the position so that supporters get the clarity they deserve. We will continue to press the club to make a formal statement.

As frustrating as it is for us, it isn't particularly surprising.
the Bale consortium obviously feel that having Bale front and centre will help them win over the fans and achieve their aims, so it's in their interest to try to conduct this business in the public eye. It probably isn't in the club's interest to do so, or the other interested parties'.
As for asking the Europe based directors of the club I'm not surprised they couldn't get any information out of them - ultimately the decision to sell or not rests with Vincent Tan - god knows what motivates him to keep pumping money into the club, and god knows what prompted him to buy it in the first place, so whether he wants to sell up at the values mentioned is probably only something he can answer.
I guess we will find out one way or another if it happens or the interested parties pull out
If Tan doesn’t sell to any of these “rumoured” parties then it’s going to get pretty ugly.
Even without a takeover it's pretty obvious that we're now heading for Cardiff City's 'austerity' years. Probably stay up in league one for several seasons, possibly just keeping out of danger of relegation to league 2. Most of us have been there - they were awful years. Maybe ugly is the wrong word, but it sure isn't going to be 'pretty' either.
This episode offers up another reason why any bid for the club coming from existing Board members has to fail. Unless there is some serious money from sources we're unaware of currently involved, you could argue that we'd be worse off than we are under Tan who at least keeps on funding the club month to month, does not charge interest on his loans and has converted some of the debt owed to him into equity.
I am sick to death of the current city set up. WeÂ’ve had our most successful spell under them but IÂ’ve never enjoyed match days less.Tan has constantly treated us like an annoyance, him and the board have constantly kept us in the dark with important club situations, they have made us a laughing stock with our constant manager merry go round tbe rebrand and mis management of football affairs, and the ongoing Sala case paints the whole club in a terrible light.
Have the good grace to accept the first fair offer and go. IÂ’d rather be in league one on a smaller budget that put up with the absolute clown show any more
That last paragraph is probably what we face for the foreseeable future but with tan in charge as I can't see any takeover being imminent and that's if the rumours flying around are true of this mystery South African (not the bale offer)
If the rumours are true I wonder whoever is leaking the information is being tactical or just loose lipped
If the information on that podcast that was shared in an earlier thread is true then it suggest it is people being loose lipped rather than tactical as the information on there was more than the takeover
I don't think it unreasonable that nothing is said by the board about any current discussions going on behind the scenes - and I am far from being a fan of Tan and would love to see him gone.
I am afraid fans / customers are not entitled to any information unless they are shareholders in the business.
If Tesco's were being taken over by Morrison's would you expect discussion in an open forum about things?
It is in reality NOTHING to do with the fans. We have no say in it whatsoever. We either pay and go to games or don't....
I'm a Shareholder in CCFC and we've never had any communication from Tan. We (I) know less about what's happening at City than those on various fan's bodies.
The last AGM I was at was when TG said we are Cardiff City and are blue. Well, that was the gist of what he said. Six months later TG had left, or was removed, from his position.
