In the Hampshire game we got Vince early and had them at 90-3 after nearly 12 overs but the next two went berserk and put on 114 in eight overs. Once we lost momentum, batting or bowling, it took us too long to get back on track at times.
Chasing was a problem overall. We batted second eight times and only won three (two of them were chasing 118 and 124) but we won four out of six batting first and got 222 in a game we lost. Another problem for me was how weak the tail was. There was talk of batting down to 11 but Douthwaite was the last real threat throughout. I guess Kerr would've helped out in that department so there was some bad luck there.
Positives too though, as you say. Leonard was excellent, Tribe and Kellaway are making progress and while Horton struggled, hopefully he'll learn from the experience. Plenty of others contributed at some point. We just needed a bit more consistency, both collectively and individually.
Back to the Championship now, Kent here on Tuesday.
