The famous wrestler has passed away at the age of 71
RIP, a massive part of my childhood.
What is going on, first Ozzy, now Hogan?
RIP, not a good human being but integral to wrestling's success and made wrestling what it was today.
Lost my respect!!! when he started sucking Trumps mushroom. RIP tho.
I’m more familiar with the ‘World of Sport’ wrestlers of the 1960s. Mick McManus, Jackie Pallo, Billy Two Rivers, Steve Logan, Kendo Nagasaki, Ricky Starr, Adrian Street etc etc. Live on Saturday afternoons from places like Batley Town Hall where, very often, the biggest danger to their life & limb was a handbag swinging granny sitting ringside should they stray nearby![]()
RIP Terry
one of the all time great WWE / WCW / NWO wrestler ( or entertainer ) if not the greatest, Ive seen on X it seems his mistakes are defining his legacy which imho is a massive shame
I visited his store in clearwater, he wasnt around, but I once met him in Las Vegas and got a ' hey Brother " from him, this was during him NWO days
I grew up watching WWF on VHS tapes from a mate who has Sky, I then blagged my mum into getting Sky, we couldnt afford it really, but she made it happen, just so I could watch WWF ( and a few of the dubious Scandinavian / German late night channels) My brother and myself have to give up our Christmas gifts in credit to pay for the dish, I remember it was just under Ł300, of Course she still got a few gifts for us, but our " big gift " was the dish
he was involved in some of the biggest and best " fights " with all the organisations
RIP Hulkster from a young hulkamaniac Matt
An honorary mention must go to 'Johnny Kwango'.
It was an era when there were very few black people involved in the sport/entertainment business.
He was a ballet dancer, an accomplished Jazz drummer and pianist and later appeared on stage and screen.
He used to take helluva beating against the ropes in the corner, I'd be thinking to myself "move away, do something"
... then he'd do his trademark headbutt!
You could only imagine how racist places like Bately community centre or Macclesfield sports hall could be back then. But Johnny brought them onside, everyone was rooting for him to win.![]()
WWF/ WWE is one of those things, like Game of Thrones or Harry p1ssing Potter that I have never watched more than two minutes of on my life.
But he stepped out of that and was a genuine global name. 71 is no age nowadays and he seemed full of life
So soon after Norman Tebbit.
I can barely handle the grief

It may just have been that there was no one with him to do CPR .
I luckily collapsed while giving my wife her medication,so she screamed for my son upstairs who started CPR within a couple of minutes.
Had it been 5 minutes before or later I would have been in my living room alone watching TV and probably no one would have realised I had collapsed until too late
