Passing the ball around nicely but only one chance so far.

Some nice passing but bit sloppy at times.

Not convinced at fish at left sided center back and Robertson still isn't a 10 for me

Yeh definitely not the same intensity as the last game.

Criminal to think we still don’t have a left back.

Good first 20 odd minutes for King in that defensive midfield position.

    Bit of a 4-1-4-1 formation.

Yes pick of the bunch for me so far.

Willock and Ashford frustrating me like they did last season. Hopefully we offload Willock and bring in some natural wingers.

Bagan with Giles as back up?

Read an article today that said Robertson is one of our star players (as well as Salech).

    Is he?

Bagan’s an option but the fact we’re playing a youth player out of position instead of Giles isn’t a good sign.

I dont think natural wingers is a road we will be going down.

Seem to be not the way in the modern game.

A reason Garnacho is surplus at Man U.

Willock just needs moving on though.

Hmmm certainly not in the position he’s playing at the moment. Hoping this is the season he comes good.

I do love Ashford’s defensive work though.

"definitely not the same intensity as the last game."
Perhaps the players are trying to push the sale through.

Yeah I agree. But we are clearly having to make do under this ownership other than cheap options.

Yeah, but I’m an attacking winger man. Taking players on and whipping crosses into Yousef. Maybe that’s not the modern way of doing things.

Great ball by Eli King and smooth finish.

Beautiful ball by King over the top.

    Salech cool as you like.

    0-1

Composed after not having many touches first half. Perfect striking play.

King is looking classy. Almost, well, regal

Does Robertson not want to do 90 mins today or something? Begging for a red.

I have some reasonable optimism for this season. If we make signings in the right place, we could go right back up.

Let's not forget that on paper, our squad looked at minimum mid-table last season in the Championship, it just fell apart because of morale, attitude and a lack of quality in terms of player choices (and Riza being out of his depth). I think we've trimmed a lot of the fat, kept the majority of the quality players and could be serious contenders for champions.

Some might not like we're playing League 2 teams mostly, but it's a good way to build back up the confidence lost over last season.

BBM been a very pleasant surprise so far. Obviously, what matters is the season itself, but the pre-season is giving me some optimism.

Good start to the season is vital.

Agreed. If we can get to Luton undefeated, I'll be happy and definitely fancy our chances. Luton will be tough, and I think Bolton and Reading look solid this season. Everyone is sleeping on Reading if you ask me. Stockport looking to prove themselves as well, they were side-by-side pretty much with Wrexham the past few seasons.

Peterborough home is a good starting fixture, Posh are an above-average League One team imo, so it will be a good challenge.
