Thread: FT: NOTTS COUNTY 2 - 2 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Re: NOTTS COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Very worried about our defence and the team as a whole to stand up to tge physicality of Div1.
We definitely need a right back and centre back.
Midfield should be ok, but what has happened to Robertson? Gone back a mile from when he came to us.
Up top looking ok, but Willock promises a lot but delivers little and Ashford bit too lightweight for me.
Think the team will be a lot different come end of window.

Not sure what Willock even promises, stealing a living.

What do you mean different? We aren't buying any players .

Why do you think the team will be a lot different. We've had the whole summer to improve this weak squad and done absolutely nothing.

We desperately need a takeover even if it just results in consolidation this season.

Hopefully Bale and co haven't gone away.

I think we are desperate for a sweeper-keeper under Barry-Murphy’s philosophy.

We are so exposed against decent through-balls or hopeful balls over the top. We need somebody that’s wired and can get to the edge of the area immediately to clear any danger.

Somebody with higher levels of reflexes and agility. To be fair, this Nathan Trott guy we seem interested in could be our ‘Bermudan Barthez’. His style of play seems focused on these attributes. Somebody like that saves Notts County’s first goal today IMO.

Left before end. Did Isaac go off injured? Preferably want Isaac to start. Pace and definitely stronger.

    BBM on injuries:

"Alex has a really bad gash to his shin. I thought it was a poor tackle at that height, and will require stitching. Isaak felt some tightness in his hamstring, but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

"Based on his previous history, our job is to make sure we look after him, whilst obviously we want to push him to fulfil the undoubted potential that he has."

I still can't figure out who's going to start on the wings next week, everyone else seems set.

John Brooks. Premier League regular, did the League Cup final this year when Newcastle beat Liverpool and has done European and International games as well.

From Melton Mowbray so not too far away

Thanks boss. I thought he was very good, and wasn’t centre of attention at all. Sensible with letting a number of things go as it was a pre season game. Only thing he missed really was the challenge on Robertson, which VAR would have helped him with in the league we are a long way from.

I thought Kpakio was one of our better players and he looks like he's put on a bit of height and bulk as well. Between him and Ng I think we'll be fine at right back.

    Agree with the rest though.

Agree. Swapped at half time which I’m assuming means he starts sat.

    🤣

We definitely need a dominant Centre Back.

Looks like Lawlor and Fish next week.

Kpakio Lawlor Fish and Bagan is a very young back 4, if that's what it ends up being
