They decided that the preliminary round would consist of the two promoted teams from the National League and the two lowest placed teams left in the EFL from last season.

When Wrexham were trying to get out of the National League all I seemed to read was how the top teams there were far better than those in the bottom half of League 2 and national league clubs were pushing for extra promotion/relegation places.

Will be interesting to see how that plays out with these fixtures.
