Wintle was immense so I think he deserves the acolade of MOM today

a shout out to our keeper too who produced some saves when it mattered and of course both our goal scorers

    Rubin.

Kpacio is clearly a real talent. Faded last 15.

Winter by country mile. He was on his own in the centre much of the game.

Kpakio was my MOTM. Very good battle against Peterborough's nippy Number 10, scored the wonder goal in the second, and was a constant presence and thorn in most Boro attacks.

Wintle played very well too, as did Rubin and I was very impressed by Turner in goal too.

He’s got something, but he’s young, and is still learning the game. He must learn not to over-commit himself. He got caught out half a dozen times this afternoon, and a better side would have taken advantage of his lack of experience. Peterborough gradually directed everything down that side. Over on the left, Bagan had a pretty quiet game.

R Cowlill by a country mile. Scored a superb free kick and laid on several other chances for his team mates. Looked like a big boy playing against younger kids when he got on the ball.

Kpakio and Wintle the best of the rest.

You must have watched a different game. He was composed way beyond his 18 years in possession of the ball and scored a great goal.

But he was caught out wrong side of his defender, a lot in the final 15. So great start and learn from it to become even better

Let’s just forget about the first 75 then plus he wasn’t given any help by Tanner all game.

Spot on , the last 10 minutes he got dispossessed a couple of times by fannying about , played very well overall though

Kpakio, faded towards the end and almost cost 2 points but he be better for the experience and a probable bollocking from the manager for the not needed fancy stuff when row Z was needed in the last 10 mins, thought the keeper did OK.

    R Colwill easily

    Re: Man Of The Match

So the man of the match thread descends into a let’s knock the 18 year old match winner one. I thought Kpakio got caught out the once near the end and his poor throw in got Lawlor booked, but, apart from that, I thought he was very good and, on a day when we gave the ball away carelessly quite a lot, he was one who I felt confident about when he was in possession.

Think Rubin Colwill deserved the man of the match, Tanner and Kpakio were candidates, as was Wintle and Joel Colwill had a good second half.

Wintle for me, with Rubin a very close second. Nobody had a poor game.

Nothing of the sort, im sure BBM will pick up on these lapses, but fans arent allowed to highlight them?

I thought Tanner had a good game. He was playing in front of me in the opening half so I had a very good look at him, and his first touch was superb.

A few good performances today. The midfield 3 were all good, but Wintle probably edges it for me for MOTM. Kpakio was good but had his moments towards the end which can be expected, he's an outstanding prospect along with Lawlor who struggled after his booking. I think Tanner was very good too, always available and linked up well with JC. I do think we need tk sometimes get the ball into the box a bit earlier for Yousef. The 3 times Tanner did get it in early created three very good chances.

    Crazy, init!

As you said, the manager will certainly give Kpakio a pat on the back and then go over one or two things he'd like to iron out. However, as a fan, you daren't discuss this on a message board.

Just think a thread started to discuss who was man of the match should be positive in tone, but, instead,we get messages making no other point than to be critical of a teenager who scored the winning goal from full back and appeared in the thread because someone thought he was a candidate for man of the match. There’s no reference to who our best player was in these messages, just critical comments about one player. Kpakio seems to be a pretty intelligent footballer to me and he’ll probably know what he’ll need to improve on, but I’d also say the point that he got no support from our right winger in that incident when he lost posssession is a fair one.

As for our wingers, I’d make the observation that, if they’re going to stay wider under this manager (which seems to be the case on the evidence we’ve seen so far) wouldn’t it be better for them to play on their “natural” side (i.e. Ashford on the right and Tanner on the left)? If wingers are being told to stay wide, aren’t they more likely to want to take on their marker on the outside hence it being likely that they will be crossing from positions what I’ll call traditional wingers would get into?

Sorry Bob, but Tanner wasted so much good possession down the left, or was I watching a different game ?!

One decent cross in the first half out of what seemed maybe 10 to 15 touches!
