They are trying for a straight promotion and are spending big, it will be interesting, the squad looks too old, too big, and too slow, but lets see.
They have plenty pace in their squad, people are jut being blinded by the age of some of the players. Moore has never relied on pace anyway and his stength is bring others into play, and neither has Coady, who is a good reader of the game.
They play 3-5-2 and they've got some pace in the right areas. The signed Ryan Hardie, who is speed merchant, and the left back theyve signed has pace too. Longman, Barnett and Brunt all have pace. Their squad isnt totally void of pace even if it is a little on the older average age side.
A lot of green eyed montsters on this thread.
Best of luck to them I say. Be good to see a Welsh team, except the JB's, in the Prem as we wont be getting there anytime soon.
interesting to see how they fair.
Some think they will go straight down, others straight up. I think they will get top 10, missing out on the playoffs.
I like most of their signings, but none of them are the type of player to transform them in to a promotion challenging side IMO - I think they'll have enough to be mid table though.
Parkinson's record at Championship level is not good. He has a big job on his hands.
Not The Top Twenty podcast have them a bottom half team.
"Being anywhere higher than 18th playing that way is incredibly difficult."

I'd say they'll finish in the bottom half unless the momentum gives them a great start, but not in the playoffs, or the relegation zone.
I've no idea where they will place , but it seems that they are giving it a shot which i can admire.Lets see how we fair because if we do go up then we must spend big.
All I know is that last season’s Wrexham team would have walked all over last season’s City team.
No, I would have thought we spent more on transfers last season than Wrexham and my guess is that the two clubs' wage bills would have been similar. Wrexham would have beaten us because they had a winning mentality, whereas we had a losing one and we also had no stomach for a fight.
We didn’t spend more and as an example of the wages they are paying , O’Brien and Moore alone are costing Wrexham around £50k a week.
I think the side they have assembled so far is ok but not spectacular, for the outlay.
The management we had last season took us down. The quality was there according to the press and opposition managers.
I'm making no claims about this season. Clearly, Wrexham have spent more on transfers than us this summer (as have about 70 of the 72 EFL clubs I'd guess) and they're sure to be spending more on wages than us. However, last season we spent reported seven figure fees on Salech, Daland and Fish whereas almost a year ago to the day, Wrexham were breaking their transfer record when they spent £300,000 on Rathbone from Rotherham. I'm pretty aure Wrexham had never paid a million pound plus for a player before this summer although I wouldn't be too surprised if it turned out that their wage biill for last season was not too different to ours.
Despite our apparent advantage in spending power last season, I would have backed Wrexham to win if we'd been drawn against them in the FA or League Cups in 24/25.
That "super computer" WOL always bang on about has them finishing just outside the relegation zone. I still think they will do better than that without really scaring any of the top sides.
Palmer has been told he is gone hasn't he ? ? pretty sure I read he was free to find another club, to be fair to him, does a decent job in the last 20 mins of a game
Elliot Lee is another who by all accounts have been told he isnt in Parkies plans , he should find another L1 team
They need a few batterings it's been too easy, those Yanks need to see more of the other side of football, players and fans fighting each other and Managers getting sacked, it's not all disney.
Couldn't agree more. Some people are ignoring the fact that this is a similar exersise for Wrexham and Parkinson every season since their first promotion. And every season the same detractors say they've spent over the odds on has been players. I think they'll do okay.
