Osho joined Auxerre in July 2024 on a one-year contract with an option of another two. They've obviously exercised that option and if he's coming here they're cashing in quickly. They're not a big club with crowds usually between 15,000 and 17,000, and have become a bit of a yo-yo club in recent seasons. This deal would probably represent good business for them.
I have little idea if hes good or not. However it will be a BBM signing and it will be a big positive as its hopefully the first of about another 3 and a sign the idiots running the club are giving him some backing.

Yes that is the thread I referred to earlier.
Although the thread has his name in the title there is actually not much about him but the thread turns into a moan about how bad some of their transfer business had been.
However, where he is mentioned it is positive.
Have we got him though? Until the club announce it, I wouldn't believe a word!
I ask the queston how have we got him, assuming there's no last minute hitch, because he's at an age traditionally thought of as a footballer's peak and his CV for the last three seasons especially reads nothing like a third tier player.

I'd say you'.re right in that it represents good business for Auxerre, but, unless he's gone back a hell of a lot as a player in the last few months, it looks like a great signing by us
Hopefully, BBM is telling any prospective signings like this one that the club has no intention of hanging around at this level for more than a season, so a signing like this would be similar to what Birmingham were doing last season when they were signing players who looked too good for League One.
It could be the case that Osho didn't really settle in France and wanted a return to the UK, so Auxerre have taken the option of an extension to cash in. That's pure speculation of course, and he's played a couple of games for them this season, but this move was apparently on the cards before Auxerre extended the player's contract.
I get the impression there is definitely money available to BBM but he knows he will have to spend it wisely in terms of fees and wages, so he's being very careful with his targets. Instead of signing a host of new players, I think he believes he can operate with a relatively small squad provided those he does bring in have genuine quality.
auxerre is a pretty small burgundy town, I'm sure I would find it a brilliant place to live these days, but in my mind 20s I'd probably be wanting something a bit more lively.
according to. various dubious internet sources the auxerre total wage bill is something between 10-15 million euros a year which must be the same ballpark as we are these days.
In Auxerre's first match this season, a 1-0 win over Loreint, he had the lowest rating of the back four players. Someone called Francisco Sierralta was MOTM with 7.8. He was subbed at half time in the 3-1 defeat at Nice, not sure if it was an injury.
