Hes played well in the Championship before. Hes decent at Championship level and clearly thriving alongside players who are miles better than L1 level under a very good coach.

Over the past few seasons, I've been one of his biggest critics. I can't remember the last time, if ever, that I praised him.
In all honesty, I was hoping Millwall (or anyone else) would have bought him. However, today I saw what he brings to this side. He was EVERYWHERE! When a City player was in danger of being isolated with the ball.... there was Wintle offering an outlet.
The Championship may not be his level, but bloody 'ell - he's effective in this league.
Oh, and THAT goal!![]()

My MoTM today
He’s loving that role. Great new signing.
His problem was never a lack of quality, it was consistency.
Every time I'd be ready to write him off, he'd have a barnburner performance, so I knew the potential was there. I just found him far too inconsistent and I honestly would have sold him before a ball was kicked this season. Thankfully he is proving me very wrong, and is in excellent form.
He has been excellent and would be the first name on my team sheet.
They are just playing another game. Not the try to survive rubbish of the last few seasons. It's positive football
He was decent when we first signed him as a "sitting in front of the back four" type midfielder, but it went downhill from there under successive managers. Good to see him flourishing now.
someone said today that Wintle was a defensive midfielder because he had no idea how to shoot
