Was ok, got subbed at 67th (i think) was guilty of not even trying to get onto a low cross.

Re: How was Mr Salech today?

He's an important part of how we play, gets into the right positions, does well holding the ball up and harrying the opposition. The difference in closing down between him and Robinson is obvious

Goals will come if he keeps getting in good positions but he's clearly frustrated at the lack

Exactly this and he also creates space for others to run into - I like the fact he is arsey as it shows he cares

Already suggested elsewhere but he gets nothing from the referees so far this season and when he gives it our seems to get penalised

He was excellent again. He pulls in defenders and creates the space for Rubin & the wide players. He also closes down quickly & intelligently. I don’t care if he doesn’t score again this season if he keeps doing what he’s doing.

    He's vital to our cause.

he is doing a very important job and doing it well

Re: How was Mr Salech today?

Had a quiet game in the sense of he didn't have many opportunities to do much with the ball. But he quietly got on occupying the centre halves which leaves space for others to pick the ball up or go beyond him at times. He undoubtedly needs to get goals as well and I'm sure they will come.

Same for Robinson the goals will come. Robinson made some excellent runs when Plymouth were getting stretched late on but unfortunately each time the wrong decision was made or a poor ball, otherwise we could have had another couple really

Re: How was Mr Salech today?

Mr Salech does an awful lot of footbally stuff very, very well. He contributes massively to the overall team performance (as does Robinson) and, as I think TOBW mentioned, maybe the BBM style is not helping his goal average.
I do wonder sometimes though if he has that natural striker instinct - the strikers nose to sniff out opportunities and be in the right place at the right time. If he hasn't, I'm not sure if this can be developed/instilled. But maybe it's not required, we won four nil.

He still isn't getting good supply from the wingers.

Re: How was Mr Salech today?

Plan B could be for the wingers to cross the ball into the box and be more direct, getting the ball into Salech, should we be a goal down with say 20 minutes remaining. So far though, we haven't been a goal down with a limited time left to play in a game this season. Let's hope we never are.

He's not getting good supply, he doesn't have a striker's instinct, he occupies the centre halves, he leaves spaces, he's doing an important job, he's vital to our cause, he's arsey, he doesn't get anything from referees, he holds the ball up, is good at harrying defenders, goals will come.

Oh come on ! I don't profess to know any more than the next man about football but my eyes tell me he's the slowest player I've seen at years, even at this level. He can't get into positions quick enough, is slow and clumsy with the ball, and even more tellingly, completely the opposite of what this Cardiff City squad need. If what we paid for him is true, then we were robbed. [again !]

    Bit harsh.
"Arsey" as in physique or attitude? I think his attitude and his general character are both top notch.

Have you posted this for a bet? Or just as a wind up? Either way, a reasonable effort that got a couple of bites. But as we say in my part of the world, 'it's chuffin' bollux'!

I thought he did well Saturday.

I’m equally not sure Salech or Robinson are BBM strikers It’s a hard one as we aren’t creating many chances for the striker but they are feeding off them.

Neither. From the start I couldn't understand what the hype was - and I said so.

Not sure what you mean - I've consistently been unimpressed and said so.

That’s true the wingers aren’t using him, they’re linking up with each other, making triangles and taking the shots. If he’s dragging defenders out of position, that’s giving them the space to do it. People forget it’s a team game. End of the season it’s about wins and points, not how many goals the striker racks up.

I don’t think Salech has hit form just yet, all strikers go through a lean patch
He’s working hard and playing in a way that’s beneficial for the team
We’re not reliant on one player banging in the goals every week which can only be a good thing

Would I have him in my team? Every time!!
Salech is a good team player and ultimately it’s all about the results the team achieve

Even promotion as Champions under Malky we didn’t have a goal scorer 20 + goals

Salech will start scoring again soon, meanwhile he’s an integral part of why we’re doing so well atm
