The trust bought her share of the property from her. She could have gifted it, and in 7 years this gift would have been outside of her estate for IHT. Not sure why you'd sell your own property to your child's trust, other than to extract money from the trust tax free. GROB and IT rules don't usually apply if the trust is set up for a person with special needs so she could have maintained an interest in it post sale, its odd that GROB rules apply here.

The more you look into it, the more it seems like tax avoidance rather than some munificent action of a parent looking after her child. We're not privy to the full facts but its very fishy.

Has anyone seen or heard from Ninian Opinion?

Rumor has it that he's smashed up his Windows 95 computer in a pissed up fit of rage shouting Heathblue you fkin miss o gin ist egged on by Laurel and Hardy, and wondering how can he re emerge pretending he wasn't mugged off by Angie, puffing his chest out ready to defend to next labour champagne hypocrite, I have a few of her tweets stacked ready and loaded, she really has been a gift of all gifts, free gear is laughing his cahones off with the attention grabbing headlines she managed to make changing the news cycle, but he must now re attach his cahones and do the right thing by unleashing the hammer, this is I suspect when the Big O goes on another bender and comes back swinging with another rant which may be the mother of all rants.

When you're in high office, you seek advice of expert Counsel at the outset.
She is either guilty of fraud and gross hypocrisy, or of serial errors of judgement in where she gets her personal finance advice.

Either way given her position in the Labour Party and government there is surely no way back. She has to resign or be sacked.

But whether she goes or stays, it is another nail in the Starmer Party coffin.

She can only claim to have acted on professional advice as a defence if the professional was fully aware of the facts. If they weren't, then did she not make this advisor aware of the full facts. Whether information was either deliberately withheld, or just unintentionally not given, wont be enough for her im afraid.
I cant see how any 'reasonable excuse' defence can exist in thus case and cant see her lasting.

I think people would have more sympathy, and she would have more of a leg to stand on, if she hadnt gone to such effort to saw off the legs of others whenever any similar event occured.

She would call for Tories to resign before any kind of internal investigation had occured. She now wants to be judged by different standards.

Personally I have some sympathy for her but she had none for anyone else, so she's laid her bed

I also found Starmers talk of how we should all be so proud of her cos she's working class staggeringly patronising.

I don't think any of us should have any sympathy for her. It's about time politics was scrubbed meticulously clean. Only then will people ever so slowly regain faith in politicians as advocates for the public interest rather than as actors for personal gain.

If that tosser thinks she should go then I am jumping in the save Angie camp!

Nah, I think she will go. Newsnight suggesting that Labour MPs are shifting to more of that opinion.

She is Deputy PM mind. A seriously prominent role. Whoever replaces her if she went will be a huge decision

They usually blame the “last government” for practically anything they can, can they somehow pin it on Boris?
