I don’t see how she survives this after what emerged overnight and so she shouldn’t if it’s true, but there’s a stench of misogyny, snobbery and double standards from sections of the media that is a reminder of what drove 14 years of decline and despair for the country. Its actually quite incredible that she was specifically recommended to take tax advice and she didn't. I'm also somewhat surprised that there isn't a party affiliated lawyer to oversee some of these things (at cost) to prevent these kinds of scandals.

Labour's most recent Executive Director of Legal Affairs was Alex Barros-Curtis, the MP for Cardiff West. I think he left the post in July 2024 when he was elected in Cardiff after being parachuted in.
The position is currently open and the Labour Party are in the process of finding a replacement for AB-C.
AB-C was the man who purged the Corbynites and the alleged antisemites from Labour. He also ran Kier Starmer's leadership campaign.
Another Corbynite has now bitten the dust and conspiracy theorists may wonder whether AB-C was in any way involved in giving Rayner 'advice'.
