I think that he's stalled a little, whether thats down to development or the way we are playing now, the spoil tactics in this god awful division, i don't know. I hope that he kicks on, he's still only 19? He'll have a fill out over the next 18 months or so.
Might be that he is one of the players that doesn't fit ideally in the BBM system. He seemed to be able to go both ways and sniff out a chance when more central but hugging the touchline might limit his abilities.

Apart from getting sent off I thought Ashford played well and also didn't shirk a physical battle and showed some good strength.

Must have watched a different game.😂

Not quite. We beat Barnsley in the play-offs and there was the little event of a century ago!

Agree with that- thought he played well tonight but hasn't had a great start to the season otherwise- often seems to lack pace but undoubtably a technical player with good awareness- let's hope he finds his mojo.

    New Wembley, though?

He's no slouch. I think that he'll come good, He's a good footballer, he conserves his energy well, He has a football brain in my opinion.

He's allowed to come inside when he plays out wide, although i agree with you in thinking that playing in a wider position can stifle his game a bit. I'm not sure this new style of play suits him, although it's very early on, Ashford is still developing as well. He's never really been hyped on here like other players who have come through the system, in fact he isn't really talked about much. I don't know how far he will go, or how he will develop, but one thing i am sure of is that he has a brain for football.

Darren Purse. Disciplinary panel chairman was a City season ticket holder.

Despite being empty, that terraced home end looked amazing. I wish we could have one of those.

By my reckoning, Ashford’s scored two and provided three assists this season.(Rotherham, Plymouth and last night). Thought he played well last night until his stupid red card and I would agree that his form has been a little patchy this season, but I think some in this thread are just showing that they always need to have somebody to be critical of - five goal involvments out of a total of eighteen scored is perfectly acceptable for a player who does his fair share of defensive work I’d say.
