Yes, coming up to the start of the season, I was expecting Ingram to be classed as a domestic player. I’d keep Ingram even if he has to stay as an overseas player because he strikes me as being a much better four day player than he was when he first signed for us - there is evidence of decline through age in his white ball batting, but not yet in his red.
If I had to make a decision on Labuschagne today, I’d reluctantly say thanks for your great commitment to us down the years, but we’re going to move on to someone else now, but, as I mentioned. I’d prefer to wait and see how he does in the coming Australian season.
Would you retain Fernando if he was willing to return for next season? I’m not sure I would, but I’d prefer him to DeLange who has been mentioned as a possible target of ours.
I’d like us to sign an opening batsman, plus a seamer who were both domestically qualified - although a lot of the better out of contract players have been signed by other clubs already, we’re a more attractive proposition today than we were twenty four hours ago and I’d be looking to take advantage of that.
