If he can deliver peace in so divisive a war then he probably does, especially so if he could in Ukraine too.

A group advocating for the return of hostages held in Gaza have urged the Nobel Prize Committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the US president, Donald Trump, for what they called his unprecedented contributions to global peace.
“At this very moment, President Trump’s comprehensive plan to release all remaining hostages and finally end this terrible war is on the table,” the families wrote.
“For the first time in months, we are hopeful that our nightmare will finally be over.”
Trump has previously complained multiple times about not receiving the Nobel peace prize, an award which four of his predecessors, including Barack Obama, have received.
The winner of this year’s Nobel Prize Peace Prize will be announced on Friday.
The US, under both the Trump and Biden administrations, have fuelled Israel’s war – considered a genocide by many experts – by providing it with vast amounts of lethal weapons and diplomatic cover on the international stage.

World's gone mad if Donald J Trump doesn't get the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday. After all he bombed Iran, fuelled the genocide in Gaza and ended the notorious Albania-Azerbaijan War. Achievements like that shouldn't go unrecognised.
And don't forget Pakistan nominated him for ending the recent India-Pakistan conflict - although India insist he did absolutely nothing but annoy a few Heads of State with rambling phone calls! They ended the conflict themselves , without 'help' from anyone.
NB - The Trump 'Peace Plan' for Gaza is not a plan - it is a one way ultimatum backed by 20 bullet points with no substance behind them. Iran, not to be outdone by Pakistan, has praised the Trump 'Peace Plan'. Even the most brutal theocratic dictatorships have a sense of humour!

What does peace mean to you?
If it is just an end to the killing - the first step followed by massive injection of aid and the release of Israeli and Palestinian hostages - Trump could have done that in the first weeks of his administration, as Biden could have done before him.
Peace surely means a political settlement that offers the best chance of security and justice to all the people of Israel and Palestine.
The Trump Plan doesn’t do that. If you can call it a plan.
But he is desperate to get that prize!

Kimmel tops Trump!
He won’t like that!
Any updates on Jack Smith?
Obviously you different stages to peace. A ceasefire, initial peace (ending the war) and long term peace.
The first one there is critical and saves a few lives but doesn't count. Ending the war counts, but it doesn't count much if it starts again six months later.
So a long term viable peace is what counts. That is of course harder to achieve and harder to achieve the success of. We had peace in Europe after worlf war 2. Was it viable and long term for example. I'd argue not, but it took 20+ years for that to manifest itself.
Thoughts with the guardian on days like today. They may need to print some balance!?
Oh dear.

It does say the nominations had to be in by January mind, so, realistically, he was never going to win it this year.
