Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy said: "It was a tough game for us but we played in the way that we wanted to play from minute one, and I suppose showed our character and our skill level throughout the course of the game.

All credit to BBM. He's fielded strong sides throughout this tournament and it's paid dividends. And, as a matter of interest, City have won their next league game after each of the League Cup ties, so him doing so certainly hasn't negatively impacted the team's league form or adversely affected the players.
I wish more City managers had had the same attitude over the years.
As for Parkinson, at this stage of the competition, his team selection was a joke for a side sitting lower mid-table in the Championship - three players who haven't started a single league game this season and three more who had only made two starts each. Who does he think Wrexham are all of a sudden? The performance and the result were good enough for him.
It is so pleasing to have a manager who wants to win games (Bolton aside), a breath of fresh air from recent years. It’s sickening to hear fans who call for players to be ‘rested’. The cup runs of 2008 and 2012 were real highlights of my time as a fan (as well if the promotions of course).
Absolutely. For me, the only competition the same doesn't apply to is the Vertu Trophy, as that really is a joke competition. But his attitude to the League Cup has been spot on and he's getting the rewards.
Wrexham's staring line-up contained seven players who have made five or fewer league starts this season. City's team contained just just two and those are Kellyman, who is just establishing himself in the side, and Chambers, who is the most experienced player in the squad. Our line-up was just about as strong as it could have been and we got what we deserved.
Each manager has to balance their priorities how they see fit - In other circumstances I think BBM may well have rested more players during the early Carabao Cup games, but we were a few games into implementing a totally new way of playing under him so I think that getting more games under our belt was more important than rotation at that point.
