I'm not a regular reader of The independent but this article is spot on:

Genuine question, but is it not always that? Like in Wimbledon etc?
I'm pessimistic about this world cup for a number of reasons. See Scotland's kick off times are 11pm. 11pm and 2am. Obviously the time zones can't be changed but it will feed into my enjoying this world cup far less I think
Latest on X is that there will be half-time shows like in the Super Bowl. Hoping the British broadcasters will switch to the studio panel and advertising.
Scotland’s kick off times are because the local kick off times for games in Boston are 3pm, 6pm and 9pm. I am surprised FIFA didn’t consider 12pm, 3pm and 6pm to cater to the European (and to a lesser extent, African) audience. Nothing wrong with those times from a local perspective I would’ve thought. Or even 1pm-7pm.
Considering the Boston Stadium is in the middle of nowhere about 30 miles from both Boston and Providence, a 9pm kick off seems a bit shit for fans.
Yeah 9pm local time is very late, I'm not sure that NFL, NHL, NBA etc games start so late? Id also have thought that it's other cities who should benefit from the 9pm kick offs, such as Miami, from a heat perspective.
Boston could be baking next summer, but less likely to need a 9pm kick off than most.
And yeah as you say, it's in the middle of nowhere, so won't be great.
Make Argentina Great Again? I hope so, but Messi is getting on a bit!
