Doesn’t take a genius to work that out.

Gary Bell? He’s 78, so credit to him if he’s still playing.

Played for Cardiff, Swansea, and Newport, as did Don Murray, Chris Marustik, and Jason Bowen

It was in reply to the post, "I don't reckon there are many that have played for all three clubs full stop."

When did Gary Bell play for Swansea?

My record books show he played for Lower Gornal Athletic, Cardiff City, Hereford Utd (loan), Newport County and Bridgend Town.

The officlal PFA Players' Records 1946 to 2005 makes no mention of Swansea where Gary Bell is concerned.

    Re: Loan Report

Roger Gibbins is another who played for Cardiff, Swansea and Newport.

I might be wrong, but I think the three clubs Phyllis Stant was referring to were Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport.

    This went well.

    Re: Loan Report

We signed two players from Lower Gornal Athletic, Gary Bell + the player with finest sideboards ever to play for the City, George Andrews.

Apparently, Gary also had a couple of seasons at Gloucester City after leaving Newport.

Yes, the Arthur Negus of football he was.

Not up to the standard of your Luke Littler post a couple of years ago but still enough to catch a couple out.

I can’t remember a Luke Littler post of mine.

    Remind me?

Or am I myself, missing a joke now?

He had something of a change of image while with Walsall towards the end of his career.

It was at the end of his first world championship when social media and every front page and tv news item had been talking about 'the 16-year-old Luke Littler' for two weeks non-stop. You came into the darts thread to ask if anyone happened to know how old he was and pointed out he was good. Please don't tell me you were being serious.

Ah yes, had completely forgotten about that 😆

    No was not being serious.

Did you just come across it or remember it all this time?

Making jokes that are right on the line of people not knowing if I’m serious or not, is absolutely my brand of humour.

I found myself sitting next to him and Bobby Ferguson in the Radio Ninian press box in 1966 at a Wales v Scotland International. Both very nice and easy going , autographed my programme. George definitely cultivated a Teddy Boy look.

21 goals in 43 games for us, not too shabby.

Be careful what you wish for, off-topic could give on-topic a right seeing to this weekend.

For a start off, a number of players weren't even in the match day squads. Tanatswa Nyakuhwa, as Newport lost 2-0 at home, Kion Etete, as St Mirren lost 5-0 at home, Michael Reindorf, as Tamworth drew 0-0 and Will Spiers at Merthyr.

The lads who did play may have wished they hadn't. Dakarai Mafico was back in central midfield for Yeovil at Carlisle but they were 3-0 down at half time before a goalless second half. Troy Perrett came on for Mafico with 10 minutes to go. Yeovil are only one place above the relegation zone now and having had four managers already this season they could be on the verge of going for number five.

Eastleigh sacked their manager today after a 4-0 defeat at Morecambe. Seems harsh after he guided them to the semi-finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup in midweek but the Eastleigh board must have short memories. Luey Giles got 17 minutes today, hopefully his luck will turn when the new manager comes in.

Our three young keepers all got ninety minutes in today. Ewan Griffiths made some good saves for Cardiff Met as they went into the 96th minute at Flint 1-0 up but then conceded an equaliser. Luke Armstrong also made a 400 mile round trip into North Wales as Penybont lost 3-1 at Colwyn Bay. Jake Dennis kept for Merthyr as they went 2-0 up at third from bottom Alfreton but went on to lose 3-2 with the winner coming in the 94th minute.

Jesper Daland came on for Fortuna Dusseldorf after 15 minutes today but that didn't end well either as he was red carded in injury time after his side had conceded late in a 2-1 defeat.

Add all this to the fact that the first team lost 5-2 and the Academy lost 1-0 at home to Bristol City having missed a penalty and had T-Jay Parfitt sent off, its hard to find anything positive to finish on but...

... 'Thank heavens for Roko Simic' isn't something I've seen on here before but he started today for Karlsruher in a 3-3-2-2 formation (don't ask me, maybe the pitch was narrow) and got 62 minutes in as they won 3-1. It's not much to celebrate but it's all I've got.

Yeah, not bad at all, but I think I’m right in saying all of his pro career was spent in the lower leagues apart from his spell with us. I was only a kid at the time so I may well be wrong, but didn’t his departure coincide with tThe emergence George Johnston and John Toshack?

Another striker around about the same time, Terry Harkin, 10 goals in 20 games, also faded from the first team. A striker with the strike rates of Andrews & Harkin wouldn’t be sniffed at these days. The Toshack/Clark era was on the horizon though wiping Andrews & Harkin’s achievements from many a memory. Georgie Johnston did earn a ‘massive’ £20,000 move to Arsenal despite an inferior strike rate but soon fell away down the leagues ending up as a Cardiff postman and skittler.
