Maybe the intention was to have one last season, but there was a realisation in pre season training that he no longer had the desire and,or general fitness to do himself justice?
The positive spin would be to speculate that Harrisknew something we don’t yet and he realised that he had little chance of playing with the depth we were going to have in our seam bowling - I agree with Pearcey, we need at least one more seamer because I could see James Harris playing quite often with the attack as it stands currently and our four day batting is weaker than it was last season at the moment.
No stats?
36 wickets in 15 first class matches (according to CricInfo). Average of 37.69 which isn't much to write home about, although Glammy reckon he'll be well-suited to the Sophia Gardens pitch.
Compare that to Sam Elliott who we were previously linked with, who has 60 wickets in 16 FC matches at an average of 23.25.

The Guardian’s season preview has Glamorgan finishing eighth out of ten, a position I’d gladly take.

Forecast not looking good for tomorrow and Saturday - especially with high winds - but Sunday afternoon and Monday look OK.
Saw an interview with Sean Dickson earlier, he looks like he's bringing a lot of leadership qualities with him. Hopefully he can replace Northeast's runs, too.
Might finally be getting a start at Sophia Gardens where, of course, Glamorgan have lost the toss and been put into bat in dank, murky conditions.
Ingram and Kellaway with an unbroken stand of 71 that sees Glamorgan finish on 99-4.
A good, if slow, ;session for Glamorgan as they continue to recover from 28-4. 169-5 with Ingram 72 not out.
Glamorgan 224-7, Cooke and Ingram out, the latter the ball after he’d brought up his century.
An even slower session sees Glamorgan 261-7 at tea having gained their first batting point of the season - they’ll have to go some to get a second one mind as they’ve been batting for 101 overs and so need to score another 39 off 9 overs.
302 all out - Yorkshire were set for an awkward seventeen overs batting, but the umpires abandoned play for the day for bad light after ten balls with the score 1-0.
