Highest previous first class score was 15!

    Marvellous.

He also faced more balls in the second innings than he had in his entire first class career before!

A great win. On a knife edge all day. Relentless good bowling. A fine achievement to get it done.

Fantastic recovery from Glamorgan. What amazes me though is 4th innings of the game Glamorgan bat for 122 overs and Jack Leach the slow left armer only bowled one over. I don’t care how seamer friendly it is, surely if you are struggling for wickets you’d give your England twirlyman a spell. So glad they didn’t though!

It was clever batting, to play and miss so often that they always thought the seamers would triumph!

What a great win, unbelievable innings from Hadley, I read he faced more balls in his innings than in his previous 19 first class innings and his score of 50 almost matches the 52 he scored in those 19 innings - quite incredible

Yes. The Bloop mentioned the fact about the runs and I pointed out the fact about number of balls faced. A few posts above.

    Nice research though!

When I posted I couldn’t see those messages for some reason on my phone otherwise I would obviously not have posted my comment but good for you that you’ve got time on your hands to post pointless sarcasm , great contribution 👍

Glad we're not losing Crane for our title push 😉 but don't understand how Bashir is included🤷

Bashir and smith. How the hell are they both back in! I can only assume with smith that they only wanted to drop 1 - and that 1 is Crawley. But he is so fortunate in my view to keep his place. And of course the replacement opener is from Durham. Just like the new selector.

I think Emilio Gay was almost nailed on to be picked irrespective of Marcus North's appointment. Smith has been on good form this season and deserves his place, but Rews selection shows theres a replacement waiting in the wings should he fail. Bashir's selection is just odd

    Re: GLAMMY

Gay deserves it for his form this season (he's averaging 92). I doubt it would've fazed Asa Tribe if he'd been picked but it's probably a bit soon for him. He should be in the Lions squad that play South Africa in a batch of games starting next Friday though. We'd lose him for the first group of T20 Blast games if so. Not sure if Kellaway (or anyone else) will make that, the squad should be announced in the next day or so.

By the way, Gay and Tribe should've come up against each other in the T20 World Cup qualifier between Italy and Jersey last year but it got rained off. That's probably not an anecdote that'll get me invited on the Graham Norton show but I'll work on it.

He might have bashed a few runs for Surrey in first couple of games, but having watched the 5 ashes tests, there’s no way I can agree that smith deserves his place. Gay has been in good form - but has not opened. Surprised it wasn’t the other Durham boy who has.

Really hope we don't lose both, can probably write the blast off if so

    Re: GLAMMY

I thought Sonny Baker was bang average against us recently. Maybe he had an off game. Craig Overton, on the other hand, bowled superbly against us.

Crane can't be far off a call-up either I'd have thought, he'd be a big loss too. I think of the Lions as being youngsters but that's not exclusively the case, especially when it comes to spinners. Nathan Sowter went to the UAE in the winter and he's 33.

    Re: GLAMMY

No Norton in the squad for today's game against Warwickshire, but they also say McIlroy is out with concussion, yet he's listed in the 14 man squad - also included is another young seamer, Jack Hope- Bell.
