Superb partnership after such an awful start. I think Carlson and Kellaway are more deserving of England call ups than Tribe imo.

    Re: GLAMMY

273-4, Kellaway 131 not out, Carlson out for 85 (he didn’t like the decision) and another failure for iIngram who was out for 8 off the first ball after tea. Dickson has continued his good form with 24 so far.

Tribe might be looking a bit sheepish today as he's in the England Lions squad but Kellaway's been dropped. No other Glamorgan players involved for the first-class games with South Africa, the one-day squad hasn't been announced yet.

Bit of a collapse against the second new ball, 307-8 with Kellaway out for 139.

Decent 9th wicket stand building. Lots of low scores at Edgbaston this season and a couple at over 500 plus. This looks like a decent score. Our elders in Ingram and Cooke are struggling.

Both Carlson and Kellaway deserve a chance for the ODI's. Both are quick scoring and in form.

Such different players, both so effective in their own way.

Carlson always looks edgy, Kellaway elegant. Kellaway's driving is magnificent.

It's been a very interesting and encouraging season so far - and Carlson obviously doing very well as red ball captain.

Fully agreed. Very enjoyable start to the season.

Kellaway was killing me last season in the T20. Every innings seemed to be him hitting 3 'shot of of the day's through the covers and then getting out playing something outlandish.

    Re: GLAMMY

Rather than compare Tribe with Kellaway, I’d rather say that Glamorgan have now got two of the better young batsmen in the country who are helping us make bridging the gap between Second and First Divisions easier than I for one thought it would be. It’s early days yet of course, but I’d like to think that, after around a year as first team regulars, there’s enough evidence to suggest neither player fall into the flash in the pan category. It’s unfair to include Norton in the same category after just one full four day game, but, having watched him bat a couple of times, I can fully believe what I heard during the Somerset game that he had been batting at 6 or 7 for the second eleven.

I still think our squad lacks a bit of depth and we could do with an England qualified top order batsman along with a seam bowler, but you look at teams like Yorkshire, Essex, Hampshire and Leicestershire and think we’ve been as good as, if not better than, them this season.

    Warwickshire 80-2 in reply to Glamorgan’s 360.

    Re: GLAMMY

Warwickshire coach having a bit of a whine about today’s conditions, but they put us in to bat. Warwickshire’s policy this season seems to be pack their team with seamers (they’ve got six right arm medium fast bowlers in this match) on wickets that do a lot on the first day and have a specialist batsman to bowl a bit of pretty ordinary spin to speed the over rate up at times.

The forecast for tomorrow isn’t much good, but it’s a bit better for Monday. It looks like the conditions could stay pretty bowler friendly and, although there’s only been one over of spin so far, Kellaway got one ball to turn and bounce a lot in that time.

I watched a fair bit of today with my dad and every rain break seemed to be mostly spent with the ground staff sitting on the hover cover for half an hour and spectators sitting in the stands waiting for play to start. It barely rained all day and the stream kept saying 'ground delay' which I thought was pretty apt because it looked like the home team just didn't want to play.

    Re: GLAMMY

Another four wickets for Norton, but Warwickshire’s late order batsmen rallied to get to 252 all out. Glamorgan 12-0 in their second innings.

    Re: GLAMMY

looks like they are using the rotherham ground staff trying to clear the playing area

Kellaway is playing very well in this match. Looks very accomplished.

    Re: GLAMMY

192-5, they put the floodlights on and promptly abandoned play for the day! Nice to see Ingram back among the runs, he’s 80 not out.

    Re: GLAMMY

This has been another excellent performance. Its likely to be a draw but Glammy have had
the better of a good Warwickshire side.
ul Hassan is justifying his place in side. His bowling has seriously improved. He seems to be bowling quicker.
I think he should drop down to six in the order though. Maybe Ingram should open instead?

It's a tricky one as his scoring rate is probably too slow to be a no6 (when he does score that is). Ben Kellaway could open but he's thriving with having Carlson for company. It's a bit of a dilemma but think we're still a batter short.
