Horrible disease.
It finished my brother off last summer. By the end it was easier to list the places it hadn't spread to than those it had.
As you say, horrible.
A lot of men ignore the early warning signs
Bob Harris was a good one![]()
The band my lad was playing at the time won the best Live Act Award (Classic Rock Society Awards) in 2012, whispering Bob presented the award to the Band, I have this award in the house but back to topic, I'm not aware of any symptoms of this awful illness but am of the age I guess in that i should at least do a test.
If you're of a certain age this is a must. It's a simple blood test to measure your PSA. Dont not do it
Around 2.5 years I had a routine blood test for Cholesterol. An elevated PSA was found. I had no symptoms! Ultimately I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and a Gleason score of 4:5 almost the highest level. I was lucky. There was no spread although I was told that 6 months later would probably have been too late. What followed was a month of Radical Radiotherapy and ongoing hormone treatment. I am lucky as the Cancer is now in remission.
To anyone who thinks it will not happen to them think again. Not everyone can be as lucky as me. A lack of symptoms does not mean that there is no problem. GET A TEST.
100%
I'm 10 years clear now, thanks to my GP pro-actively testing me (He had it!) and referring me early.
