We don't evolve by being closed or by constantly listening and agreeing with people who look and sound just like we do.
How do the different customs etc enrich our society? It's minimal, if anything. Does it work the other way? Are there people in Mali telling each other to open their minds to beans on toast and Shed Seven? If you get something out of it then that's nice but you can be a white man who only listens to Coldplay, reads Len Deighton and has a Sunday roast every night and you can still be conscientious, imaginative and useful.

A lot is made of diversity and perhaps that's because it makes us feel better since immigration is an economic tool and steeped in superiority. Why would they come here if it wasn't so bad elsewhere? We know it and they do too but it seems like we don't like to admit that. Even that clown from the Greens said so himself. Well, good for us. Thank your lucky stars and enjoy your Laotian curry and appreciate the nice people who drive our buses but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be careful or our lives suddenly take on a new dimension. Most are here because it's a trade-off.

I'll speak for myself then, maybe that's what i should have done with my original post. I love Diversity, i seek it out, it's something that gets my attention, whether that's through travel, food, music, or just finding out about people. If people only want to listen to Coldplay, Eat a roast every night and read Len Deighton, then more power to them. We should all be able to do what we want to do, obviously within reason

Irrespective of how people arrive diversity is part of life

Cardiff is built on different cultures and to a greater or lesser extent so are loads of other places

Not just in the UK , obviously

You'd probably like one of my Granddaughters, she was reprimanded a few weeks ago and told to remove her fcuk Nigel Farage banner from the window of her uni accommodation. You said you do not use X, I can assure you its a cesspool of shit but for however shit it is, the press, police and BBC could not label Henry Nowak a racist which they wanted to do so, the incident in Belfast was in the public domain before the narrative could be framed, we robbed shops like fcuk when we were young, but however how much we robbed them, meat, chocolate etc. wasn't locked up to prevent it, shopkeepers were empowered to do something about it, shop assistants are being told to ignore it and do not challenge anyone, them days were not great they were hard and tough for many, luckily for Mozz he didn't have to wear hand me downs as he went to a different school and the uniform was different!! Nothing or no one will ever convince me a young girl going into town on the weekend for a night on the piss had similar probability of harassment in the 60's, 70's, 80's as they do in the current decade. Not even the Guardian or BBC stats so we'll have to disagree on this one.
Fair enough. I said what i thought so there's no point in going back and forth. Only one thing, How do you know that The police, The Guardian and The Bbc wanted to label Nowak a racist?

Over the years young women have occasionally been subject to terrible things in Cardiff

Murder in the Carpet , Riverside

Poor young girl killed in Cath Cobb woods

    Murder of Lynette White

    Geraldine Palk

None of these women were killed by muslim immigrants

That's grand, but it's a by-product of economics and politics.

The different cultures arrived because of economic opportunity (and they weren't collecting benefits in the Boriswave). In Victorian times we had open borders, but that wouldn't work now.

It's a strange argument. We have awful people living here so it's okay to import more.

So what you're saying is that people came here from different countries in order to make their lives better and not to make my life feel more enriched? Man, that's pissed on my chips.
