    It's because women don't understand a thermostat. Which is why I turn mine off.

    Mrs H walks around barefoot with a thin top on - "is the heating on? I'm freezing!" - stat reads 19 degrees!

    in fairness, 19 degrees is t shirt and shorts weather.
