He must have been devastated the way he was treated. Would he even consider becoming our manager? Probably not. A terrible waste of talent. Short termism...again.

What makes you think he would be a good manager.

Plus...resilience, experience, charisma. He has a good brain on him and is approachable. The sort of ex player players would look up to and respect. More likely he will make a move into TV punditry though.

    Nice guy, a decent pro

would make a decent Coach imho

not sure on a manager though, sometime you have to be tough, otherwise the changing room runs itself ( Dave Jone )

But that describes many other players who go into coaching and management. Not many make it to the top sadly.

Ex players are often better off at starting their coaching career lower down the leagues.

If Bamba had not left this summer we'd be spending even more money on a player who doesn't play.

Currently we have manager who is vastly experienced and is not performing well and you'd replace him with a person who has no experience whatsoever? Not even coaching at a junior level, but he'd be well liked. I'm afraid Bamba has to 'learn the ropes' first. Bellamy would be a better option, at leats he has coached youngster and gone to Belgium and coached U23s and 1st team. Not sure if he'd be welcomed back though, and he says he's not well at the moment.

Given that he’s on a player contract at Boro why should the club have given a 36 year old a contract extension?

I love Sol Bamba but why would we want him to be our manager?
