    Concerts that rocked your world?

For me, it was my first biggy, Glastonbury 1990.
I was unemployed at the time and had just cashed my giro. Mate of mine comes up to me and says ''Glastonbury this weekend, you up for it?''
    I was.

We thumbed a lift from Brynmawr and within two hours we were rocking up at the gates.
Neither of us had a ticket, but we were there.
Being there soon turned into getting in there as we found a gap in the fence and waltzed through.
Acts that weekend included Happy Mondays and The Cure.

We were in for free, tidy.

King Crimson at the Capitol Theatre, Cardiff on October 29th 1971. It was packed. The music was brilliant and Peter Sinfield's light-show was magnificent. They started the concert off with, 'Cirkus.' Here's the track from 6 weeks earlier:

Black Sabbath , supported by TOOL , Milton Keynes Bowl , Summer 1998

Beautiful day , beautiful sunset 🌇 , original Sabbath line up , 20 years after their last studio album

Ozzy and Bill Ward had cleaned themselves up

They were immense , 2 hours of heavy riffing , pounding drums and bass

They should have knocked it on the head after that and became a comedy act but they were untouchable that night 🌙

The stone Roses, Ally Pally, I was with my first love

The Chameleons, The Academy, 1998, Quashie was superb that night playing the didgeridoo

Ian Brown, The Apollo 1999, top night followed by the music box dancing our nuts off all night

LCD Sound system Cardiff 2010, the place was bouncing, absolutely rocking

The Stone Roses, Wembley, 2017. They're not a stadium band, but this night was superb.

    Chemical Brothers Paris 2018

She Drew The Gun, Deershed, 2019, there was just something about this gig that was so unbelievably emotional

Genesis at Liverpool Empire 1974. Peter Gabriel was majestic as Brittania and the concert had a big effect on me. There’s something about seeing your favourite band live for the first time. It’s been the same ever since.

I was also at the Gabriel concert down the CIA and agree with you, he was really good. Genesis are my all time favourite band, and although I prefer the Gabriel years, their music does have an effect on me. That’s what music is supposed to do, isn’t it ?

Yes, North Cornelly was always blue when I was growing up, but I've been in Bridgend for over 40 years.

We used to have our own supporters bus picking up in North Cornelly, Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Cefn Cribwr, etc. When that stopped we used to pick up the Margam bus going through Pyle.
