    Depends if one has a resale value though, and if that value will go up.

    Like I said elsewhere, It’s the old adage of buying a car vs leasing. Always buy an appreciating asset loan a depreciating one.

    I think loans will be common whilst budgets are squeezed.

    I think we can safely say that 33 year old Flint will not have a re-sale value in the summer of 2022, if we were to extend his contract.

    Clearly the club has realised that it has been too generous in the contracts it was giving out pre-Covid. I'm certain it's why Paterson had to go, and why Flint has to go.
