Thread: Orwellian

    Orwellian

Manic Street Preachers catching the zeitgeist.
So happy to hear this because it needs addressing on this message board, pretty much every other reasonable message board and society in general.

Much love (even though they are Forest, Spurs etc).

    Re: Orwellian

Interesting lyrics, as you often get from the Manics.
I've seen them live a couple of times - great band - including a few songs before Wales best Italy at the Millennium in 2002. What a night that was.

Yeah. I'm nearer Bristol than Taunton, surrounded by Bristol City fans. Quite a few of those in Taunton too though I think.

    Re: Orwellian

Clearly a talented band but not really my thing

    Kevin Carter is a belter

Odd bunch though , drape Welsh flags over their amps , drummer is a Liverpool fan , bassist likes Spurs

    Re: Orwellian

Not my cup of tea. Better than the Stereophonics but still quite average in my opinion.

The music scene in wales seems better than when i was living there, then it was only bassey and tom jones ...oh and red beans and rice

The new one is a very decent abba impression. Can see that doing very well on Radio 2. Would be interesting to see it next to The Intense Humming of Evil in a setlist though

I think they described this album as "dark ABBA"

As they are in Cardiff City or Newport territory they should support one or the other if they are going to proclaim their welshness

Or they may as well put a union jack or flag of St George on their amps

    I'm with you here Sludgey.

Music wise, I cannot stand the band, boring drudgery, middle-of-the-road indie crap
