Ben Woodburn is training with Preston North End after finally being released by Liverpool.

According to The Daily Mail, the 22-year-old has agreed a two-week trial with the Championship club.

The trial will reportedly be used as a way to maintain Woodburn’s fitness ahead of joining a new team. Over the fortnight, he’s also said to be hoping to impress Preston manager Ryan Lowe.

In any event, Woodburn will come without a transfer fee, having seen his contract expire at Liverpool.

There's definitely a player in there but seems to have lost his way. Who knows a fresh start might see him recapture some form and maybe stake a claim for a world cup spot.
