People often say oh Newcastle were only getting 21000 in the eighties

And we were getting 3500 !

crowds were crap .....ours were very crap

Yes, but Newcastle weren't in the bottom division.

Wolves had barely more than 4k when they were relegated from Div 3 and 5.7k in their first promotion attempt in 1987.
