  1. #1

    Hyde Park

How many people in that “protest” today have been frothing at the mouth over Dominic Cummings breaking lockdown.

    Hypocrites.

    Re: Hyde Park

Cummings sort of shot the lockdown to bits and the government & the police backed him, bar a slight admonishment for his 60 mile partially sighted round trip to Barnard Castle, perhaps some folk are saying “F*ck it!”.

An unsafe gathering for sure , all Cummings fault, as folk can't think for themselves .

A pitiful excuse. People still have to take self responsibility and in this pandemic have a responsibility for others.

I’d be willing to wager a lot of those virtue signalling in Hyde Park today were outraged at people gathering on the beaches in the manner they have been.

No doubt he will ride in at some point. He has to win CCMB every day. In his own head at least.

But lots of other people were saying "fcuk it" anyway. The Scottish health minister, 2 senior members of Manchester council, the top architect of the covid defence, and MP visiting her married lover and many others probably.
Now it occurs to me that it is not only people in public office doing this, it is also lots of ordinary people, it is just that the media look for them.
Even the guy who reported Cummins broke the rules himself.
Lots of people were doing it and are doing it, with or without any influence by these people. The average person doesn't need any excuse to do what suits him or her.

How many of those you mentioned resigned, stepped down or were sacked ?

Cummings is still in position, if people in power, that have influence and make the rules then disregard those rules then the public are more likely to disregard the rules themselves, that is why it should be a resigning matter/ sack job for high flyers but not for Cummings so it seems.

I'm not arguing with you. I was merely pointed out that if so many people in the public eye have been doing it then it's a fair bet that a whole lot of ordinary people have been doing it too. (not to mention chips and allotments )

Didn't the Scottish woman and the mp visiting her *cough* friend both end up losing their roles, but Cummings is still in his role.

    Whaaaa?

There are people of all colours and creeds on the protest.

It is as idiotic as those gathering on the beaches.

Nice to see the Venn Diagram of Vagueness back in action. I wonder if the same people who said X are now doing Y. Well, unless someone took a register we'll never know, but never mind, we'll cast aspersions anyway.

    Have these people:

    a) broken any lockdown?

    b) driven any distances that they were not supposed under the current guidance?

    c) left their homes while showing symptoms of Covid-19?

If people cannot see the issue with these protests with our issues with COVID then we really are in trouble

You tell us. Chances are the answer is yes to at least two of the three. They are all hypocrites.

They're only hypocrites if they were kicking off about Cummings, and you have absolutely no reason to think that they did, apart from the fact that you've decided they did so you can complain about them

What they should've done was to go outside their houses every thursday night and gone down on one knee. That would show the government that they mean business.

Didn't Cummings break lockdown rules prior to them being relaxed?

Is there anything that scares you more than protest? What's worse? Protesters or unions? What about union members protesting? Aaaaaargh! RUN!

Cummings went against all (his) government advice during the stricter English lockdown, perhaps if he’d have been made a massive example of, say a huge fine, sacked and made to make a very much against the grain public apology for his actions it may, just may, have made the people saying “f*ck it” rethink their attitude. The UK public have shown that taking self responsibility doesn’t work, have you seen who’s Prime Minister?

    a) not breaking lockdown, but huge amounts certainly breaking social distancing rules without ppe.

    b) obviously impossible to know

    c) not particularly relevant considering the amount of asymptomatic sufferers. The fact you dont have symptoms is no excuse for breaking social distancing on an industrial scale.
