    Goodison Park Closing Celebrations

Now thats how you celebrate leaving a stadium and the end of an era. Not a plastic football in sight. Lets be honest our club have always shit on the fans, its always been the same and so shall remain so

Not to be a complete scrooge but I don't really get why the fans are crying, the stadium is still going to be used by the womens team, they can go back whenever they want when they start missing it.

Can't think of too many clubs with a new stadium that can do that.

Petrol station. 10p. Signed. Up in the loft, deflated. Looks like a neon haemorrhoid. Only Cardiff City could lose 3 nil in our last match at NP. Still standing though.

Just getting the photos through from my Toffee supporting son-in-law. Looks awesome. Proper send-off. Especially outside Everton one.

    Geez, brings back memories!

As a kid in the early 70s, if a large group of us wanted to play football, we'd have to knock on a friend's door who we knew had one of these balls, because none of us did.

Those black & white continental-style plastic footballs were useless, they were like beach balls.

Wasn't the Wembley Trophy a regulation size and weight?

One of my earliest childhood disappointments was thinking I was getting a leather football for my birthday, only to find it was a Wembley Trophy (they came in a box).

Strangely, I don't remember these footballs from Ninian Park. I don't remember anything being given away at the final game, to be honest, though plenty of people helped themselves to stuff. I always wondered what happened to the turnstile doors I saw being carried down Sloper Road.
I do remember these footballs from when I was a kid, though. Anyone remember having to weld up a puncture with a hot knife? Had to do that many a time....

I had a white one think it was called an International.

I don't think they gave them away as such, just kicked some into the crowd wasn't it?

Even as a non Everton fan when that violinist was playing the Johnny Todd / Z Cars theme tune yesterday really got me in the feels.

yes, in a embarrassed type of way , apart from Paul Parry who couldnt be arsed to go and get a ball which followed on from his " couldnt be arsed to run during that whole game " attitude

Yes, and a few years later I could't couldn't even tell the different between a Wembley Trophy football and an official Mitre match ball!
