Ive still not got a clue, but what a farce for a Cup Final.
Approximately, when is the suspect goal?
The ball clearly hit the underside of the bar on its way back out which means it must have gone into the net to hit the bar behind the goal.
Biggest thing for me is the two Monmouth outfield players on that side of the goal don't seem to dispute it. The camera pans away then so they may have after.
Looking at the slowed down version at 10:50 it does seem to go in and hit the bar behind the goal before bouncing out of the goal, not over.
No one behind the goal, assuming Monmouth fans seem too bothered either.
Looks weird though, players on both sides react as if it's a goal and others carry on playing (although not sure how either way the ball would have been in play.
Proper toxic atmosphere there![]()
What did VAR have to say?
Looks pretty clear it's a goal to me, don't understand how it can hit the bar from that angle if it hasn't gone in like PontBlue said above.
You'd have thought if the bar behind the goal is that close that it can cause that to happen it would be something the refs were well aware of and accounted for, what a mess.
I've heard the kid excels at English literature.
Definitely a goal. It bounces back off the fence.
Feel for these officials mind. Pro lads get some stick but it must hit different when you're being called every name possible by 22 players, their families, friends, and a 14 year old a few feet away
Fair play to them, it's not something I would rush to give up my time to do on the weekend.
