    The managerial wait

    Stats warning!
This season 24/25 has seen managers being sacked, it seems, on a weekly basis. It’s half term, kids are home, I’m off work and at a loose end on a rainy day so I’ve done some research on the days between sackings/leavings and appointments. I got through the stats of 24 teams with another 30 something to go and gave up, but here’s what I discovered as of today:

    Stoke 2 days
    Carlisle 18
    Hull 9
    Southampton 8
    Bristol Rovers 10
    Shrewsbury 8
    Gillingham 0
    West Brom 23
    Preston NE 8
    Blackpool 13
    Swindon 0
    Man. Utd. 14
    Leicester 3
    Coventry 21
    Reading 0
    Burton Albion 54
    Wolves 4
    Oxford 5
    Millwall 20
    West Ham 1
    Plymouth 10
    Everton 2
    Derby 6
    Swansea 0
    Cardiff#1 75
    Cardiff#2 39 and counting

Thank God for Burton Albion! When do we start thinking that all of the candidates have been dismissed as being too boring again?

    Re: The managerial wait

All for not rushing straight into it if we have actually interviewed properly and had some sort of process.

It's starting to take the piss though. The club has so much to sort out in what will be a big summer, we just need someone appointed.

Why is Swansea on zero? They did the same as us and months later finally appointed the caretaker.

When riza was sacked in april the only prediction i could make was it will be well into june before we have any news on an appointment. I havent engaged in any speculation since.

You are right, my apologies. I took Sheehan’s appointment as the same day he took over as caretaker manager. It was actually 75 days until he was officially appointed.

I'm hoping they have the same outcome at us
