45 days since Riza was sacked

Monday will be 45 days since Riza was sacked and as everyone predicted, there is little movement towards a new manager

It wouldn’t matter if we had a footballing set up behind the scenes that put a side together for a manager to work with as happens at a lot of clubs these days but instead a mid June appointment will see us off the pace throughout the summer in terms of transfers in. Hence the rubbish we got in end at the back of August last year

Meanwhile fans are encouraged to part with their money at the earliest opportunity for a season ticket. No lessons learned

I’m 50/50 on getting a season ticket as can’t make midweek games or 12.30s any more and everything tells me not to bother

I’m sure Choo and Dalman will claim the clock only started when the sub-committee was formed.

    Totally inept.

This club is continuing along the same road it has crawled along for years. Nothing changes.

How long do think it should have taken?

Definitely less time than it’s taken. Let’s not forget that, besides the six weeks plus since Riza was sacked, he was, effectively, on borrowed time for months because there were continual calls for his sacking and it’s been widely reported that he lost the support of the Board, apart from Tan, after the defeat by. Luton which was about six weeks before he lost his job. At any other club (or 90 per cent plus of them anyway), such a situation would have lead to preparatory work being done regarding the selection of a new manager. However, not for the first time, it’s as if City are caught on the hop by events they should have seen coming from a mile off. The club did not issue a correction when it was claimed that a list of recommendations were given to Vincent Tan last weekend, so you have to ask why is it taking him so long to make a decision? It’s as if he hadn’t realised that he would be making the choice for our manager and, yet again, he was caught unawares.

The club were briefing during the week that the name of the new manager should be announced by the end of this week and this is on the back of “inside info” for weeks telling us it would be sorted by the end of May. It’s widely reported that the sides in the Play Offs are at a disadvantage when it comes to planning for the coming season because they a couple of weeks, at least, behind everyone else. Well, were now the best part of a week behind Leyton Orient the beaten League One finalists - let’s not forget either that one of the deadlines for buying season tickets run out on Monday.

    It's incompetence at best.

You expect a lot of moving parts, difficulty to get it over the line, Tan having to host and choo giving a free car away for 6 months if we were enticing pep...beyond that we are league 1 club just looking to hire a league 1 manager, it doesn't need this much time to **** it up.

No more than two weeks after the last league game for a club with the right footballing structures in place.

That is a fair question. How long should it take? If we had appointed someone too quickly then the obvious charge of not doing due diligence would have been thrown around once the wheels start falling off.

45 days is reasonable and if an appointment is made next week I would say well done to the club on timing. Of course whether they have the right man is another thing

Shame. From the title I hoped someone was organising a party.
