Thread: So what does a Hard-working Cardiff City Team full of Heart Look Like?

So what does a Hard-working Cardiff City Team full of Heart Look Like?

Much has been written about the team of 2024-2025. The consistent theme in any writing has been it was a team with very few leaders; a team that lacked heart and a physical presence when the chips were down.

With a few minutes free, earlier this weekend, it got me thinking. Setting my thoughts no further back than the turn of this century I allowed myself time to reflect that it wasnÂ’t always like this.

So for what its worth hereÂ’s my City team since 2000. IÂ’m sure IÂ’ve missed some players out but here goes ...

Marshall Peltier Â… Morrison Â… Bamba Â… McNaughton Burke Â… Gunnarsson Â… Ralls Â… Whittingham Thorne Â… Bellamy

It is interesting to note that EIGHT of the players viz Marshall, Peltier, Morrison, Bamba, McNaughton, Gunnarsson, Ralls & Whittingham each played more games for City than any other club. For the purists among you had Bellamy appeared four more times for City he, too, would have played more for City than any other club. For Thorne (32 appearances) & Burke (45 appearances) would have been required to reach that milestone.

Kav would be the first player on my “hard working” team sheet & captain.
