    What could possibly go wrong?

    Is it possible for us to make eleven changes? The players involved over the past three games deserve a rest.

    Definitely Turner in goal with NG and Robertson to return.

    Amazing, we are blooding some future Welsh Internationals, what a difference having a Manager and a keeper makes.

    Turner, Giles, King, Mafico, Nyakhuwa and Isaak Davies to start. Maybe Beecher on the left wing, also. It will depend where they play Davies. Ng, Daland, Robertson, Chambers and Robinson to make up the 11.

    I'd expect to see one of Twose or Perrett on the bench. Will Spiers has also been impressive for the U21's in the early part of the season. Luke Pearce will probably also be on the bench.

    We won't win if we do that. It'll be a mix, Giles isn't fit and Mafico should be nowhere near the first team for a good while

    Some U21s with a good bench sounds good to me. Cheltenham were bottom of League Two last I checked, so hopefully not too much of a difficult game, but never underestimate any side.

    Wouldn't disagree regarding Mafico. Do you know what the latest is with Giles? He was training with the 1st team last week.

    Lawlor and Fish should be rested, along with Wintle and Rubin.

    Is this a ridiculous suggestion?

    Turner;
    Spiers, Ng, Chambers, Jac Thomas;
    King, Mafico, Robertson;
    Nyakuwah, Robinson, I Davies

    Not sure if Robertson or Ng are fit for starts but that's a mix of youth and experience and gives a break to those who have put a lot of miles in during August already.

    The under 21s are playing Wigan at Leckwith a few hours before Tuesday’s game, so I’ll be surprised if there are wholesale changes for the Cheltenham match.

    I think R.Colwill & Wintle have earned themselves a break, especially with a big game against Plymouht coming up. I'd also be wary of playing Bagan due to a lack of cover. Lawlor seemed to hurt his back so could do with a game off probably

    King, Robertson (if fit) and Ng in for them? Maybe give Nyakuhwa & Davies a go out wide? Ashford gets through a lot of work

    We don't need a cup run imo. Let's rest players and try options in the squad,

    I disagree. We've gone out of too many early cup games in the last few years.
    We're playing the worst steam in the football league...at home.
    Beat them and see who we are drawn against in the next round.
    Excite the fans...draw someone decent at home, and get the fans buzzing...even more than they are now.

    Steady on. A cup run to get fans buzzing? That’s so 2008/12. I agree by the way.
    The team? Any that doesn’t start with Horvath and I’m happy.

    Good thing you don't support Wednesday then

    Cheltenham have just been taken over by Mike Garlick who previously owned Burnley. Can see Flynn getting the elbow as manager before too long.

    If he's fit, that's great. I read he was injured and that's why he's not played any u21 football.

    Less elbow more silver bullet

    Cheltenham also have an away game v Salford on Friday night. So suspect they'll make lots of changes.

    If the team who are currently rock bottom of the Football League are making lots of changes for a League Cup second round tie, they might as well abandon the competition here and now.

    But in that position, resting players to try and win the next game and help stay in the league would be expected?

    But you are right, probably only 50% of teams are really trying to field strong enough teams to win the games. I would have thought, for many teams, it's an inconvenience.

    Perhaps some more time in competitive action together may improve their play? Mad thought I admit.
