Probably get a load of people getting tickets and passing them on as happens at Wales games.

Makes sense and seems fair. Constant rolling 15 previous games as criteria. Much like Wales use for the away tickets.

Club missed a trick not awarding a point for the Carabao cup home games.
Good. It needed to change.
When someone buys a season ticket, one of the advertised advantages is you getting priority for away tickets. That clearly hasn't been the case so far, so it's good that the club have taken note.
Away Ticket Points System – FAQ
Why are you changing the system?
In the past, eligibility was based on games attended over multiple seasons. While this recognised loyalty, it
made it very difficult for newer or returning fans to ever get started. The new points system is simpler, fairer,
and gives everyone the opportunity to build up points over time.
Why only the last 15 away league games?
By focusing on the last 15 away league fixtures, we keep the system fresh and relevant. This rewards the
supporters who are currently travelling regularly, while still allowing others to work their way up the ladder.
What about Season Ticket Holders and Members?
We value the loyalty and commitment of our Season Ticket Holders and Members. That’s why all Season
Ticket Holders start with 2 points and all Club Members/Junior Bluebird members start with 1 point each
season, in addition to the points they earn from attending away fixtures.
What if I’ve never been to an away game before?
Don’t worry – not every away game sells out. There will always be opportunities to get tickets for certain
fixtures, and those games give you the chance to start collecting points and moving up the list.
Do points count for tickets purchased on the gate at away fixtures?
No, you must purchase your tickets directly via the Cardiff City FC Ticket Office/online ticketing site or official
travel groups for your points to be increased from attending away fixtures.
Is this fair to those who’ve travelled for years?
Yes. The system still rewards those who regularly follow the team away from home – those supporters will
naturally have the highest points. At the same time, it also ensures that new or returning supporters aren’t
permanently shut out.
How do I check my points?
For now you can log in to your ticketing account to see what away fixtures have been assigned to your name.
One point will be allocated for every away league fixture attended. Looking to the future, we will be working
with our ticketing providers to make your points total visible in your online ticketing account so you always
know where you stand.
Well it looks like my days of going to watch Cardiff City are over. Very sad having had to pay for the stupid Away Membership for all these years.
Why? Plenty of away games won’t sell out.
Did you have enough away games to attend the likes of Wimbledon, Port Vale and Luton?
If you did then you probably did 8+ of the last 15 away games which will guarantee you tickets for every away game I would imagine. If you didn’t, then the old system didn't benefit you anyways.
There's quite a few with relatively large away ends as well which should get to general sale before selling out. The two already mentioned in the thread, Doncaster gave out 3000 to Bradford recently and Peterborough gave 2500 near enough. Bolton I'm guessing will be another with a healthy sized away end.
It's only really going to be Exeter, Mansfield and a few others which will be super quick to sell out.
The issue has only really arisen since we dropped into League One, where a lot of grounds have a capacity of 10,000, or even less. This in turn means we only get 1,000 away tickets (or less), and that's not enough, especially if the ground is easy to get to.
I don't see that this change will make a lot of difference - the regular away goers will get their tickets (which is fine). Those who only travel occasionally (like myself) will have to hope they get lucky, or otherwise, start travelling to those far-off places, in order to build up their points.
Hopefully we won't need this next season!
It didn’t need to change it just needed some common sense to not use one away game from the first game of the season in the summer holidays over a number of games from last season.
All this points per away game nonsense is just that. Just pick a large number of games and keep that rolling.
Also why do away cup games not count? Will they be basing it purely on cup games if we get Stockport away in the cup?
