I would have added this to the Bundesliga 2 thread but that wouldn't be technically correct.
For those who may not be aware, BBC iPlayer/online are showing the Friday night Bundesliga game all season
I’ve learnt that Bundesliga refs speak in English to the captains before the game.
St Pauli deserving their 1-0 half time lead. Leicester score early on against Birmingham.
I read a number of years ago that the language used amongst themselves in the Belgium national team set-up was English due to the French/Flemish language divide.
As for tomorrow's game, I'm in Copenhagen right now, getting a flight to Amsterdam early morning, changing planes in Amsterdam, bring collected at Bristol by my good lady, being deposited at a nearby village where I parked my car and then heading to Cardiff for the game.
Had Greenland not been closed to air traffic this week, I would have been starting off my journey to the CCS with an extra five hour flight this evening to Copenhagen from Nuuk.
I had been here before and I took the opportunity to go to Malmö (and I had been there before too but before the incredible Ølesund tunnel/Bridge had been built.
I also popped up to Helsingborg yesterday and return to Denmark via ferry to the charming town of Helsingør (or Elsinore if you are a Shakespeare aficionado).
I'll have another crack at visiting Greenland once the security problems are ironed out.
Watched a lot of the Hamburg derby and was impressed by St Pauli who seemed pretty comfortable all night to me - also saw bits of Leicester v Birmingham and was struck by how ordinary the latter looked - will their defeat spark a spending spree over the weekend?
Hadnt fully appreciated that Hamburg had been inte second tier for as long as 7 seasons.
A little disquiet at the moment in Germany over the extent of player sales to the Premier League and the ability to compete. Bayern are the notable exception
I was there in the away end Harry. Really promising start for St Pauli with all the new players and a great atmosphere.
On the subject of B2 my ‘main’ German team, Hertha, having proclaimed that this was the season they would do everything to regain their Bundesliga status, lie second from bottom in B2 with 2 points from 4 games. Is it possible for a team to be cursed?
