Thread: I would be disappointed to see McGuiness go.

I would be disappointed to see McGuiness go.

Smacks to me of a personality clash.

let's not invent more stuff to criticise Morison for.

If he's not going to play we might as well loan him out. He's too good to be playing under 21 football

    McGuiness Flint gone solo.

Exactly, the Morison hatred is ridiculous on here. In fact most of the hatred on here is.

Smacks to me of a poor central defender.

    Pathetic comment.

He clearly doesn’t fit how we currently play, he was constantly making mistakes and getting caught on the ball, even in preseason. This is a chance for him to get game time. It’s a great move for him and us.

To be fair to SM he seems to have a clear vision of how he'd like us to play and recruits players specifically to fit into that style of play. No more square pegs in round holes. Extremely refreshing and long overdue.

Poor bastard's going to be gutted when he sees Vaulks getting on the team bus with him

on what are you basing that ridiculous assumption?

Morison wants centre-halves who can play a bit. McGuinness has never looked adept with the ball at his feet and made a few mistakes in pre-season games, and we've brought in CBs in Kipre and Simpson who appear to fit Morison's style more. You're either a) reading way too much into it or b) looking for any excuse to have a pop at Morison, and if it's the latter, it's pathetic.

He looks like he’s won a competition

He needs games and he wasnt getting it with us.

For some reason his form dipped badly last season and I dont think he fits in at the moment with us passing from the back.

I think he will do well there and I can see us selling him next summer.

It's funny because he always looks so deadly serious when he's playing.

Looks to me like he's delighted to get away from Steve Morison.

Smacks of lots of soft goals conceded last season, and that he can't play the ball out in Morisons new style.

Also smacks of he's not as good as the new players Morison has signed that are keeping clean sheets, even in a brand new team, and lets get him off the wages to help sign a Striker!

when we signed him I remember Ipswich fans being surprised we thought he was ready for the championship, as he'd made a few errors in L1. A few of them said that he might be OK if alongside a more experienced player.
That's what he had for a lot of last season, either Flint or Morisson or both as leaders at the back probably helped him out a lot initially.

I have no hatred for Morison. I hope he does well.
I may have been wrong in suggesting that it smacks of a personal clash - just a simple opinion not laced with the type of vitriol that you quickly concluded.

I wasn’t insinuating that you did necessarily. I could foresee the usual Morison knockers jumping on.

Played the full 90 mins and kept a clean sheet against a decent Bolton Wanderers side this afternoon.

Sheffield Weds fans very impressed with him today as well. Hopefully he gets a good run between now and Xmas and then we bring him back.

As were we, maybe more suited to a back 3?

Really hope he has a big season.
