here are 2 images of some delicious key lime pies

one is real, the other generated by an AI engine. I won't say which is which.

if you look closely it is fairly easy to tell which is which, but it's getting harder and harder to do so. at first glance though it's not bad.

the real picture requires someone to make the pie, lay out the scene, and a professional food photographer to take the photos. several hours work.

the ai picture is generated in seconds

One on the right is AI imo.

The skin on the lime and the light/translucency on the centre looks off.

The layers of the pie are too clean as well. I think a knife being dragged through it would leave streaks of cream and lemon.

The stuff in the background looks artificially blurred instead of it simply being out of focus.

That's what gave it away for me so presumably that's actually the real one :facepalm:

Could this be the big catastrophe?

It seems like you are only just waking up to the potential threats of AI. It has already deployed on social media to control narratives, not to mention a law was passed 4 PM's back that requires ISP's to store user data on a their servers, which would be an interesting dataset for AI. I studied the topic at university when the internet first came into being, so it's best to keep your sarky comments to yourself as you are late to the game by a couple of decades.

All the tools are in place for authoritarian control, so if you have any kids/grandchildren you should be paying attention to that, instead of trying to score points on here.

You should know by now the intellect(s) you are taking on. This might be the very issue that WB ridiculed his tutor by referring his essay to a MIT Professor who then thought it PhD level. Still it's nice to know that people can still have kids and grandchildren on his apocoplyptic timeline he is yet to share!
