I try to dodge the heat in this weather but got caught in the Bridgend tescos car park

Even with the windows down it was hard to bear

3 men walked across the Sahara Desert in the blazing heat.

One was an Englishman, one was a Scotsman and one was Irish.

The Englishman carried an umbrella with him, the Scotsman carried a fan and the Irishman carried a car window.

Soon all three encountered a Bedouin who asked them why they were carrying their different items.

The Englishman said "I'm carrying an umbrella because if it gets unbearably hot I can use it as a shade".

The Scotsman said "If it gets too hot I can use my fan to cool me down".

The Irishman said "If it gets much hotter I can wind the window down and let some air in".

Was yesterday the hottest day of the year so far? It was the first time this summer that the heat felt uncomfortable to me - usually that happens with me when the temperature gets in the high twenties.

Decided to go for a stroll along Penarth yesterday pm. Through park, along pier, up hill, back through gardens. Must have been half a dozen or so other walkers. Got home and found it had been 30 degrees. Was wrecked !

I used to fish down the beach but they have messed up the parking now

My Gran and Grandad are pictured in the Penarth book fishing off the pier in a competition
I love walking along the front and sitting on the pier it’s a special place especially on a sunny day 🤩☀️👍

Even in the winter being by the sea is great

It's normally very muddy but the lack of rain has turned the sea greeny blue
