Re: RIP Randy Meisner, Eagles
They have just done the Hotel California tour, played the whole album live
We got excited that they was a rumour they would be in Florida when we were there, playing the " farewell tour " would have loved to have seen them play, but they didnt announce a florida date

I much preferred them when Joe Walsh joined but, unfortunately, he ended up doing less solo work that I really liked. Ironically, I went specifically to see him at Wembley when the Eagles were further up the bill.Originally posted by SLUDGE FACTORY View PostThe Eagles were quality
A bit coffee table background music at times but great when they nailed it

I think Don Henley was the main man for them and his solo stuff was top notchOriginally posted by Taunton Blue Genie View PostI much preferred them when Joe Walsh joined but, unfortunately, he ended up doing less solo work that I really liked. Re: RIP Randy Meisner, Eagles
Back in 1977 The Eagles were massive. They represented everything that punk hated, the long hair, flared jeans, check shirts, the bland west coast country rock harmonies etc. That said, Lyin' Eyes, Take It Easy, Desperado, (a favourite of Lemmy's) are great melodic rock songs.
Regarding Joe Walsh, when Bernie Leadon quit the band he was drafted in as replacement, though in view of his own burgeoning career, they thought his stay would only be temporary. I think he stayed on longer than anticipated.
