Ted Peskett, local democracy reporter A well-known theatre and music venue in Cardiff which could be set for a takeover contains the notorious concrete known as RAAC. A Cardiff Council report last year confirmed that the ceiling of St David’s Hall is made of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), the usage of which has recently […]

Live nation are now fine to purchase.

      Enjoy.

As far as I'm aware there's nothing inherently wrong with RAAC concrete but it does need to be properly fitted but I would think considering the construction with the neighboring St David's 2, I wouldn't be surprised if there is an issue here.

EDIT: Read the article, seems fine and OK to ignore

Let's be honest, now this is out, anything they need to knock down will suddenly develop RAAC concrete disease. It's a brilliant idea to get rid of unwanted buildings. Saves burning them down, anyway.

Is there any concrete evidence to support this

Didn’t the Arms Park have concrete cancer ?

Well St Davids certainly is the right age but all the experts I've listened to say it's to do with how well the buildings are maintained.

I'm doubtful that regular maintenance would be able to spot suspect/crumbling beams behind artificial ceilings.

                Closed. **** it.
My mate won us 2 tickets to see Graham Nash a week Sunday.
The venue in the heart of the capital has closed with immediate effect for at least four weeks.

Has the council played a blinder here by selling the venue ?

I doubt they knew about it when it was sold.

The fact it's closed and it's being inspected for RAAC by the council suggests the deal isn't over the line.

Who knows these sorts of things can be complicated

Where is that woke comedian going to go now?

Probably a church hall or somewhere will be available?
