Re: 20mph online petition
yes if 20mph was implemented on the m4 there would be less cars crashing into the trainsOriginally posted by North Cardiff Blue View PostBut why not the argument is simply that fewer people die in accidents at 20mph.
It makes no sense to change road speeds for that reason, yet they've just done it?
If they get away with this it will be let's think of the next stupidest thing we can and implement it, we can do what we want.
stop the lockdowns

Re: 20mph online petition
Or just the same people, and gammons/15 minute city conspiracists/people from outside Wales, adding multiple entries?Originally posted by JamesWales View PostIt'll hit 300,000 today. Likely becoming something more than just about 20mph stuff now, a bit like the Ulez in London. A general pushback against WG politicians now it seems.
And is ULEZ much if a thing now the right wing media and tories aren't pushing it due to a by-election?

Re: 20mph online petition
ULEZ will disappear in a few years time as it will become a loss making exercise. Fewer and fewer vehicles will be subject to the charge as older vehicles are gradually replaced with those which are exempt.Originally posted by nomad blue View PostOr just the same people, and gammons/15 minute city conspiracists/people from outside Wales, adding multiple entries?

3629 votes in a few hours
Petition
Hold a referendum on ending devolution in Wales
Hold a referendum on Welsh Devolution and whether the people want the Welsh Senedd to be abolished.
More details
The establishment of the Welsh Senedd, as an additional layer of government in Wales, was intended to empower the Welsh people and provide them with more control over their own affairs.
We believe the recent controversial implementation of a blanket 20mph speed limit across restricted roads in Wales has shown that the current Welsh Government are not representing the democratic rights of the Welsh people, by ignoring calls for a cease once the estimated economic impact came to light.

They’ll just increase the readings, as they have done 3 times with coaches !Originally posted by The Bloop View PostULEZ will disappear in a few years time as it will become a loss making exercise. Lots of coaches are now subject to incredible charges to enter London, they just keep on moving the goalposts

the economic impact estimation is extremely flimsy. it considers the case over 30 years for a start - who knows what our driving behaviours will be like in 30 years time?Originally posted by North Cardiff Blue View PostNew petition to sign - https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/643987

anyone here that was working in 1993, did you expect you'd see working from home en mass and zoom calls etc?
not wearing a tie in the office seemed outlandishly fanciful only a few years ago

Boris has gone, Sturgeon has gone, he needs to, and you can't trust any of the rest of them in the Sennedd either if they voted that through.

I know you don't know the difference between cars and trains.Originally posted by North Cardiff Blue View PostJust sign it we need Drippy gone.
I feel it might be too much of a stretch then to try and explain the difference between Mark Drakeford as a single politician and the senedd/welsh assembly as an entity.
But it's the equivalent of me saying I want the UK government to be eradicated because Boris Johnson.
I don't know if you're on a wind up and your posts are a massive wooosh for me and if that's the case, hats off to you

My amusement has been the way people like you have pompously reacted. Not once did I say it was nonsense, I said it should be reviewed and rejigged. But if it is you’ll get on your high horse over something else then. Your childish name calling of Drakeford and sycophantic love in with your ‘Boris’ is a bit cringeworthy
"I said it should be reviewed and rejigged" = Back pedal
Well done you got there
It's nonsense you know it, I know it!

Re: 20mph online petition
the irony meter is off the charts with this oneOriginally posted by Rjk View PostI've just read the actual petition, and it has to be the most poorly written load of nonsense I've ever seen on there, it reads like something from the Wales online comments section, with random BLOCK CAPITALS and somehow stating that this is the end of socialism in Wales.
I'm actually embarrassed for anyone associated with this.
