Tommy and his mob turn up despite the protestors saying he wouldn't be welcome and would attract the neo nazi crew

He shouldn't have gone. He was asked not to and he still went.

But, the difference nowadays is that you can watch all this stuff for yourself on line. So the videos are there of him being peaceful and doing his role as a journalist (which strictly speaking is probably what he is in all honesty nowadays) and then dragged away by 12 officers. Which is of course absolutely what he wanted.

Not an easy one for organisers.

It isn't far right support for Jews. It is far right support for Israel and for Zionism.

It is admiration for extreme and violent nationalism (Modi seems to admire Netanyahu and sees Israeli state ideology as a template for extreme Hindu anti-Moslem nationalism). It is also hatred of Arabs, Moslems and/or brown people - working on the basis of 'my enemy's enemy is my friend'.

It is also often driven by Christian fundamentalism where a three millennia old folk tale of a God giving some land to his 'chosen people' is treated like a modern property transaction. Many Christian Zionists in Europe and America going back to the end of the nineteenth century are/were also complete anti semites. They approved the creation of a Jewish 'homeland' so that they wouldn't have to live next to Jewish people in their own towns and cities.

That is why Tommy Robinson a few weeks back posted a photo of himself with an Israeli flag next to an IDF tank in northern Israel. That is why Marine Le Pen joined the pro Israel march in France and associated herself with the Israeli flag. That is why the leading white supremacist neo-Nazi in the USA (Richard Spencer) describes himself as both an anti semite and a 'white Zionist'.

It is also why the tens of thousands of Jews (particularly in London and New York) who have taken a full part in the Palestine demonstrations in the past 6 weeks have been subjected to some of the worst abuse and threats from not on the far right, but also the Israeli government and its apologists and lobbyists. There was a big Jewish presence (again) on the Palestine march in London on Saturday - including on the speaker platform.

I think it's more that the 'problem' for them has become Islam and Jews are seen as a bulwark against it. Same with Hindus and Indias situation with Pakistan.

Whether it is far left or far right or down the middle - everyone, regardless of political opinion has the right to protest and the right of freedom of movement in the UK. Plenty of people waving anti Semite banners have been allowed on Palestinian marches as well peaceful protestors.
He has a narrative, he got what he probably wanted - the headlines .
